Scar Revision

Overview

Whether your scar is from injury, surgery, acne, or burns, our goal is to soften its appearance and blend it with the surrounding skin. We use advanced techniques tailored to scar type — hypertrophic, keloid, atrophic, stretch marks, and contractures.

Techniques We May Use

  • Surgical revision (excision & meticulous layered closure)
  • Z-plasty/W-plasty for contractures or misaligned scars
  • Laser resurfacing or microneedling for texture/color
  • Steroid or silicone therapy for raised scars
  • Fat grafting or fillers for depressed/atrophic scars

Recovery

Most revisions are outpatient with 1-2 weeks of activity modifications. Improvements continue over several months as the scar remodels.

Minor Excisions

Overview

Quick, local-anesthesia removals for benign lesions or lesions of concern. We focus on small, hidden incisions and fine sutures to optimize cosmetic results. Pathology review is available when appropriate.

Common Lesions Treated

  • Moles (nevi) & atypical nevi
  • Epidermal inclusion cysts
  • Lipomas (fatty growths)
  • Skin tags, seborrheic keratoses

Recovery

Back to normal activities the same or next day for most patients; suture removal typically 5-14 days depending on location.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will there be a scar?

Any incision can scar, but we use plastic-surgical closure and aftercare (silicone, sun protection) to keep it minimal.
