Signature Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, PLLC was founded in Palm Beach, Florida by Dr. Melissa Marks, D.O., FACOS in 2018. The experience was crafted by Dr. Marks’ vision of a personalized patient centered approach. She was welcomed into the Plastic Surgery community and quickly established herself as one of the most desired surgeons in the region. Dr. Marks became known for her surgical precision, beautiful symmetry, and boutique customer experience.

In 2023 Dr. Marks and her family relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina where she also relocated Signature Plastic Surgery and Med Spa. This practice remains true to its founding principals that make Dr. Marks’ practice unique – quality care, personalized approach, and surgical expertise.

Dr. Melissa Marks is a Double Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with over 15 years of surgical experience. She is certified by the American Board of Osteopathic Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons. Dr. Marks has completed extensive training in total body and facial plastic surgery. With this extensive training, she offers a full compliment of both surgical and non-surgical treatment options to her patients.

Dr. Marks attended the University of Florida where she graduated Magna Cum Laude before earning her medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she finished in the top 5% of her class. Following medical school, Dr. Marks completed a demanding five-year General Surgery Residency at McLaren Macomb Hospital, affiliated with Michigan State University, and was selected to serve as Chief Surgical Resident. She then pursued a highly specialized three-year fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

Dr. Marks is board-certified in both Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and General Surgery. Her extensive training in full-body surgical care provides the strong foundation that allows her to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered treatment.

Throughout her career, Dr. Marks has remained committed to innovation, precision, and patient-focused care. Her extensive training in both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery allows her to offer personalized treatment plans that align with each patient’s unique goals and natural beauty. Whether performing complex surgical enhancements or subtle non-surgical treatments, Dr. Marks brings both artistry and technical expertise to every case. She believes that aesthetic medicine should empower patients—not pressure them—and takes pride in creating a welcoming, judgment-free environment where confidence can thrive.

Recent highlights and recognitions of Dr. Marks expertise have included lecturing at several national conferences and a research publication by the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. She is also a published author in Facial Plastic Surgery Clinics of North America. In 2019 Dr. Marks was published in Jupiter Magazine as an Expert in Plastic Surgery of the Breast and Body and she was featured on WPBF25 news in an exclusive segment regarding a worldwide breast implant recall associated with lymphoma.

Outside of her surgical practice, Dr. Marks cherishes the time she spends with her husband and two children, placing great importance on family life. As a working mother herself, she deeply understands the unique challenges and demands faced by women balancing professional excellence with family responsibilities. In her personal time, she enjoys reading, cooking, and maintaining an active lifestyle through regular exercise, activities that help her recharge and maintain balance.

Dr. Marks maintains active staff privileges at Novant Health and CaroMont Regional Medical Center, where she performs a wide range of surgical procedures. In addition, she offers carefully selected office-based cosmetic procedures for appropriate candidates, providing personalized care in a comfortable, private setting.
